September starts out with a bang with two big name releases in the first week with the zombie survival horror game Dead Island and the action RPG title Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine. This month has a few more releases than
last month with nine notable releases hitting the PC, but some of these are titles that have been delayed from previous months. Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad and Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter may not have the biggest press but do have a fairly large fan base and could be hidden gems from this month.

Dead Island is zombie survival horror game set on Banoi, a fictional island that has come under the grips of a mysterious epidemic that has turned many of the island inhabitants and visitors into Zombies. Players are faced with apocalypse and will have to fight for their survival against hordes of zombies. Dead Island is a played from the first person perspective and has a big emphasis on melee combat over traditional first person shooters of run and gun. The game features a story based campaign that can be played solo or in co-op mode with support for up to 4 players. Dead Island will also contain RPG elements such as an experience system, skill tree and weapons customization.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a departure from the traditional Warhammer 40K real time strategy games you may be familiar with. Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine is an action role playing game played from the third person perspective. Players will take on the role of Ultramarine Captain Titus as he leads a group of space marines into battle against Orks. A massive Ork horde has invaded one of humanity's planet sized war machine factories known as Imperial Forge World and it is up to the space marines to take control of key strategic points until reinforcements arrive to drive out the Orks for good.

This PC exclusive title is set during the infamous Battle of Stalingrad with the realistic gameplay elements such as realistic behavior of guns and ballistics, blind firing, cover/partial cover and much more. It also contains a more realistic injuries as the game does not include med packs or allow players to regain health over time. Tanks will also be a drivable vehicle in Red Orchestra 2 with more coming after the game's initial release.
